Principal Drew Patin gives a short MS tour to help new students on their first day.

good morning when the Middle School families I'm Drew Patton the principal of Windham middle school and today I'm going to show you how to get ready for their first day of school first day of school let's talk about arrival times at 7:05 buses are going to drop off all of your students at the front of Windham Middle School parents you're also welcome to drop off your students at the front of when the Middle School between 7:05 and 7:14 also parents can drop off at the field Allen during those same time frames all of the students said that are coming to win a middle school where they are riding on the bus or whether you're dropped off by parents will have three options when you come into the middle school students can wait in the morning to with their friends in the library in the gym I'm or in the cafeteria so it's always a good idea to have a plan for that are with a friend for that first day to help to get rid of those first day jitters once you come inside and we'll take a tour of the school I'll show you where those places and talk about some other important things when we see you on the first day of school to be many friendly faces to walk me to Windham Middle School including myself and mrs. Hall if along your route you have any questions or you get lost just let him don't know and we'll help you out let's go take a where the cafeteria is so between the time is 7:05 in the morning and 7:14 this is one place that students can come hang out with their friends until they wait for that first Bell once that first bell rings in the morning students are going to go to their assigned you should know what your team isn't Advanced if you don't again we have friendly adults around that can let you know what team that is and can help you get there as well another place that you can wait in the morning with your friends is in the library let me show you how to get there once you're in the library if you can find a good book to read check it out with our awesome librarian Mrs Babbitt or just hang out with your friends the third choice that you have in the morning is to come down to the gym and hang out there on the first day of school you're waiting for a 714 Belle once that rings it's time to go to class 12714 Bell Rings it's time to find your team we have plenty of teachers to help you along the way once about Rings time for class to start we move those hats still knows phones and wait for your teacher to tell you what's next once you get to your team are teachers going to lead you through all the activities of the day they'll assign you a locker if you're a 7th or 8th grade student will assign you a copy if you're a sixth-grade student during the first day we have lots of activities planned for you that help me to get to know our rules and standard operating I'm going to meet other friends and do some fun activities hungry when it's time for lunch going to come down the ramp hallway or you might be coming down this hallway and we have a couple of lines for you to line up at my Behind These stanchions here so we have a line here and a line here and it weighed in the line until it's time to enter the cafeteria once you get to the cafeteria we'll have our friendly cafeteria staff that are going to ask you what you like to eat going to just circulate around this line will be punching in your code for your meal saw the codes are the same as Manchester school and if you have a question about that just have to ask our friendly cafeteria staff at the end of the day we have a bell that rings at 1:49 that won $49 for our 8th grade students in our 6th grade students and it signals that you're being dismissed are seventh grade students are dismissed at 1:50 with a double bell at dismissal if you're riding a bus buses will pick you up right where they dropped you off make sure you have a plan with your parents they can pick you up outside when the middle school or outside of field Allen or summer location that you agreed upon I hope you have a great first day at Windham Middle School parents and students please reach out to me before school begins if you have any questions or concerns that I can help with we look forward to seeing you
